About fostering

Fostering is providing a safe, caring home for a child and/or young person who is unable to live with their own family. This could be for a number of reasons, such as a family crisis or parental illness, or if the child is at risk of neglect or abuse.

Our aim is always to return children to their parents as soon as it’s safe to do so, which means that the length of time a child stays in foster care will vary. For those who can’t return home, adoption or long-term fostering is an option.
